The Shift Personal
What is changing in your sector? AI disruption mapped by time horizon.
"Your sector is not adopting AI. It is being reorganised around it."
What It Does
The Shift maps how AI is restructuring your specific sector, organised by time horizon: what is happening now, what is coming in 12–24 months, and what is emerging in 2–5 years. It names real tools, companies, and workflow changes rather than giving generic predictions. The output is sector intelligence, not career advice.
The Shift requires a Personal tier subscription (£19.99/year).
How the Conversation Works
The Shift asks about your sector, your specific role within it, and how you have seen AI tools change your day-to-day work. It probes for specifics: which tools, which workflows, which tasks have already shifted. This grounds the analysis in your lived experience rather than generic industry commentary.
If you have completed The Mirror, your sector and role context carry forward automatically. The Shift will reference your Centaur Score and positioning to tailor its analysis.
If you uploaded documents in The Mirror, your extracted profile also carries forward. The Shift will already know your sector and role and will skip asking about them, going straight to probing what AI-driven changes you are seeing.
The Results Experience
When analysis completes, the chat disappears and a full-screen cinematic experience takes over.
The Opening Line
A single AI-generated sentence that names the structural change hitting your sector. This is not a summary of the shifts. It is the uncomfortable truth that makes the rest of the analysis urgent. It appears in large italic text, centre screen, before anything else.
The Timeline
The centrepiece of The Shift. Individual shifts are grouped by time horizon and displayed as a vertical timeline. Each group opens with a colour-coded badge:
| Horizon | Colour | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Now | Red | Changes already underway. Tools already in use. Workflows already shifting. |
| 12–24 Months | Amber | Changes with clear momentum. Early adopters are already there. Mainstream adoption is imminent. |
| 2–5 Years | Purple | Structural changes emerging. The technology exists but adoption is early. These reshape the sector's operating model. |
Each shift has a title, description, and where relevant, a note on which roles are most affected. The shifts are specific: they name real tools, real companies, and real workflow changes.
Biggest Threat
The single most confronting risk to your current position. Displayed with a red accent to signal urgency. This section is consistently the sharpest content in The Shift and is designed to create the tension that motivates action.
Biggest Opportunity
The most significant opening created by these shifts. Displayed with a green accent. Where the threat creates urgency, the opportunity creates direction. Together they form the emotional core of the analysis.
Sector Outlook
A single-sentence forecast. A genuine verdict on where the sector is heading. This is the line you would put on a conference slide.
Share Card
A downloadable 1200×630px image showing the opening insight line, a count of shifts by time horizon, and your sector name. Designed for LinkedIn sharing to prompt the question: what is happening in my sector?
In-App Help
The tool name in the navigation bar has an info icon that opens a brief "About this tool" panel. Section labels in the results experience have info icons with one-sentence explanations.
How It Connects
The Shift provides the landscape. The tools that follow help you navigate it:
- The Edge identifies which of your capabilities remain valuable against these shifts
- The Path builds an action plan that accounts for the timeline pressures The Shift revealed
- The Thread connects your career narrative to the sector's direction
The Shift is the landscape. The Edge is your position on it. The Path is how you move.
Best Practices
- Complete The Mirror first. Your sector context carries forward and improves specificity
- Be precise about your sector. "Commercial property law" produces sharper output than "legal"
- Mention specific AI tools you have already encountered in your work
- Pay attention to the "Now" shifts. These are not predictions. They are already happening
- Share the card on LinkedIn. The sector-specific insight line is the hook
Common Questions
- How current is the analysis? The Shift draws on AI knowledge up to its training date and supplements with the specifics you provide about your lived experience. It is not a news feed but a structural analysis
- Can I re-run it? Yes. We recommend re-running every 90 days to see which shifts have accelerated
- Does it cover my exact niche? The more specific you are about your sector and role, the more specific the output. The conversation probes for this detail
"This is the landscape. Come back in 90 days to see what moved."
